Sir Mike Ambrose is the author of the question.

Let the side length of the regular hexagon be 1 unit.

Therefore;

Area green is;

Area triangle with height 1 unit and base ⅓√(3) units.

= ½(⅓√(3)*1)

= √(3)/6 square units.

Area yellow is;

Area triangle with two length 0.40929915222 units and 1 unit, and angle (90-atan(⅓(2√(3))))°

= ½(0.40929915222*1)sin(90-atan(⅓(2√(3))))

= 0.13397459621 square units.

It implies;

Area yellow ÷ Area green in its exact decimal is;

0.13397459621 ÷ (√(3)/6)

= 0.46410161512
